Newton Cultural Development introduces ‘Parlor Performances’ showcasing music from local musicians over 6 weeks from January 27 – March 3. Each performance in the series will be streamed on Wednesdays, 7:30 – 8:30pm EST on Newton Cultural Development’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/newtonculturaldevelopment
A Roots-infused, Contemporary Folk duo, Newton-based Crowes Pasture (Monique Byrne & Andy Rogovin) performs original music and eye-opening covers that reflect a mutual passion, sense of discovery and celebration of life. Their tightly blended vocal harmonies are mixed with an expressive instrumental style that is best described as a “banjo-guitar romance.”
The series is organized and hosted by Newton Cultural Development, a department within Newton Parks, Recreation and Culture www.newtonma.gov/culture, and funded by Newton Community Pride, a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to build community and volunteerism through year round arts, cultural, and beautification programs for all to enjoy.
