Celebrity Speaker Series:
“Meet the Maestro”
Wednesday, November 8th 2023

NCP’s 2nd Annual Celebrity Speaker Series was a huge success! It was wonderful to see our community come together and support the arts. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. A big thank you to all who attended, Keith Lockhart, Jim Braude, and The Showcase SuperLux for making this event possible.

Newton Community Pride hosted “Meet the Maestro,” an intimate evening of conversation with acclaimed Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart at the Showcase SuperLux Chestnut Hill. Jim Braude, co-host of Boston Public Radio, moderated the conversation with Lockhart, inquiring about his musical career, his experiences collaborating with a diverse range of artists, and his remarkable 28 years leading the Boston Pops.

The evening was filled with insightful appreciation of the importance of music and arts in society, discussion on diversity in the arts as well as talk about what challenges and threats the arts face in the future. It was wonderful to see the Newton community band together in support of arts and culture programming.

Ticket proceeds from “Meet the Maestro” went to Newton Community Pride and allowing us to keep our programming free and open to all!

Newton Community Pride is a 501c3 non-profit organization building community for all to enjoy through free arts and culture programming, public art, beautification and service projects.
