Get to Know Your Neighbors Block parties are a great, old-fashioned way to connect with neighbors old and new. It's Easy and Fun! Talk to your neighbors and pick a data. Let your kids think up games and activities. It really is fun for all. Block Parties can be held in Newton any weekend providing permission is secured from the Newton Police Department, Traffic Division, 25 Chestnut St., Newton, MA 02465. In writing, request permission to close your street; give date and times and explain your neighbors are planning a Block Party. They will arrange for street barriers to be brought to your street. Be sure you contact the Newton Police Department 2 weeks before your event: 617-796-2100.
